SEREMBAN, May 28 — A requested special meeting involving the Negeri Sembilan Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU) cannot proceed as the matter is currently before the courts, the body’s secretary said in a letter sighted by Malay Mail.

In the letter dated May 26, DKU secretary Raja Norazli Raja Nordin said the proposed special meeting requested by several Negeri Sembilan royal and customary leaders could not be convened due to ongoing court proceedings.

He cited an ongoing legal action identified as “Saman Pemula NA-24NCvC-240-05/2026”, adding that any meeting held on the matter could touch on issues currently being litigated.

“DKU is unable to convene a special meeting as requested in view of the ongoing court proceedings,” he wrote.

Raja Norazli also said the individuals involved could not independently convene or call for a DKU meeting, adding that any purported special meeting scheduled for May 29 would not be recognised as an official DKU meeting.

Accordingly, no special meeting will be held on May 29, 2026,” the letter stated.

The secretary further described the move to call the meeting as “not reasonable” and said it could affect the integrity of the ongoing court proceedings.

He added that the DKU reserved its legal rights over any unilateral actions that could prejudice or interfere with the court process.

The letter was addressed to several Negeri Sembilan royal and customary officeholders and copied to the state Secretary, the state legal adviser, and a legal firm.
