Power outage stalls Ampang/Sri Petaling line, Rapid Rail rolls out shuttle buses

KUALA LUMPUR, April 2 — Train services on the Ampang/Sri Petaling route are experiencing delays due to a power outage between Awan Besar Station and Sri Petaling Station.

Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd (Rapid Rail) in a statement today said that due to the delay, passengers are expected to experience longer waiting times at the platforms, especially between Bandar Tasik Selatan Station and Awan Besar Station.

In this regard, Rapid Rail has activated alternative train services and free shuttle buses to enable users to continue their journey.

“Alternative train services and free shuttle buses are provided to connect the affected stations,” the statement said.

For alternative train services, trains from Putra Heights Station will turn back at Kinrara BK5 Station with an expected frequency of seven minutes, while trains from Sentul Timur Station will turn back at Bandar Tasik Selatan Station with a frequency of 10 minutes.

In addition, shuttle trains are provided between Bandar Tasik Selatan Station and Awan Besar Station and between Kinrara BK5 Station and Awan Besar Station with an expected frequency of 15 minutes.

Free shuttle bus services are also provided between Bandar Tasik Selatan Station, Sungai Besi, Bukit Jalil and Sri Petaling with a frequency of between 15 to 20 minutes depending on the current traffic conditions.

Rapid Rail said the engineering team is currently on site to carry out repair work to restore normal operations as soon as possible.

To ensure the safety and smooth movement of passengers, auxiliary police officers and station staff have been placed on the platform and station concourse.

Passengers are also advised to seek alternative transportation and refer to Rapid KL’s social media pages and the MyRapid PULSE application for the latest operational information. — Bernama
