PUTRAJAYA, March 19 — Muslims in Malaysia will celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri on Saturday, March 21 this year.

The announcement was made by Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad in a televised broadcast this evening.

“In fulfilment of the command of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, with the consent of the Malay Rulers, I hereby declare that the date of Hari Raya Puasa for all states in Malaysia is Saturday, March 21, 2026,” he said.

The announcement followed new moon sightings tonight at 29 locations nationwide.

The process involved state muftis, astronomy experts, religious scholars and representatives from the Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM), among others.
