Four dead, including 18-year-old girl, in Johor crash involving motorcycles and Perodua Myvi

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 25 — An 18-year-old female teenager was among four individuals killed in a crash involving four vehicles at KM 32.5 of the Muar-Segamat Road, near Bandar Baru Sagil in Tangkak, Johor, last night, according to Harian Metro.

The accident, believed to have occurred around 10:20pm, involved three motorcycles and a Perodua Myvi car. Three of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while another succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at Tangkak Hospital.

It is understood that all the deceased were motorcycle riders or pillion passengers.

Tangkak District Police Chief, Superintendent Roslan Mohd Talib, said the police received a report of the fatal accident at 10:55pm.

“As a result of the accident, three people died at the scene: two male victims aged 20 and an 18-year-old female teenager.

“They were riding or riding pillion on Yamaha 135LC and Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycles.

“Another motorcycle rider, a 19-year-old male on a Yamaha 135LC, died in hospital,” he said.

Roslan added that the driver and passenger of the Perodua Myvi were uninjured.

He said the cause of the accident is still under investigation, as no witnesses have come forward to explain how it happened.

“The investigation is being conducted under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving in a dangerous manner causing death.

“The police advise the public not to speculate or share videos or images related to this accident.

“Members of the public with information about this incident are urged to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Khairul Azmi Ibrahim, at 011-12445836 to assist with the investigation,” he said.
