KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 — Four individuals accused of raping a Form Three girl in Alor Gajah will be brought before the Melaka Magistrates’ Court today, the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) announced.

In a statement, the AGC said it had examined investigation papers submitted by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and concluded that there was sufficient evidence to proceed with charges against the suspects.

“The Chambers has decided that the individuals will be prosecuted under Sections 375B and 377B of the Penal Code [Act 574], as well as Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 [Act 792],” it said.

The statement added that the case would be heard at the Melaka Magistrates’ Court, which has jurisdiction over the alleged offence.

The AGC also underscored its commitment to upholding justice, stressing that all cases involving sexual crimes or offences against children will be pursued and managed in line with the law.

Police earlier confirmed that four male students, all aged 17, had been remanded for six days after allegedly taking turns to rape a Form Three student at a school in Alor Gajah earlier this month.

The assault is believed to have taken place on October 2 inside a classroom, with two of the suspects said to have filmed the act on their mobile phones. The case surfaced after the video circulated online and was reported by the victim’s mother.
