Worker killed in freak accident after being pinned to stone grinder at Sarawak factory

KUCHING, Oct 7 — A 37-year-old worker was killed after he was pinned to a stone grinder machine at a factory along Jalan Expressway here this morning.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from the Kota Sentosa fire station were dispatched to the scene following a distress call received at 9.40am.

“The rescue team proceeded to unlock a nut at the machine’s fan to free the victim.

“The rescue team then pushed the fan and extricated the pinned victim at around 11.33am,” Bomba said in a statement.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, and his body was handed over to the police for further action. — The Borneo Post
