KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 20 — Five eateries were destroyed in a fire at Block C, Gugusan Kesumbar Flats, Jalan Pekaka 8/1, Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya, near here yesterday.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said they received a call about the fire at 6.06pm.

“The first fire engine from Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Station reached the location at 6.20pm and managed to bring the fire under control by 6.24pm,” he said in a statement yesterday, adding that the fire affected five eateries measuring 50x50 square feet each, which were completely destroyed.

The fire also destroyed a Proton Saga (20 per cent), a Proton Wira (60 per cent) and three motorcycles (50 per cent each), he said, adding that no casualties were recorded in the fire. — Bernama
