PAPAR, Sept 15 — Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali has directed the Papar District Disaster Management Committee (JPBD) to prioritise the delivery of essential supplies to villages cut off by floods triggered by continuous rainfall this morning.

The Papar MP also instructed the committee to relocate villagers whose homes have been inundated to unsafe levels to temporary relief centres, including the one at the Papar Community Hall.

“Following the rising water levels in more villages and several areas now cut off by floods, JPBD Papar declared a flood disaster in Papar district today, Sept 15, at 10 am.

“I, along with the District Officer (Muhammad Mohd Ali) and Datuk Juil Nuatim (Limbahau State Assemblyman), as well as related agencies, are currently on the ground visiting and delivering aid to villages that have lost road access,” he said in a Facebook post today. — Bernama
