KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 — The consensus of the regional bloc Asean is that an election in army-ruled Myanmar was not a priority at the moment and that any poll must involve all parties, Malaysia’s foreign minister said on Friday.

Myanmar, an Asean member, is in the grips of a civil war and critics have derided the junta’s planned election as an attempt to prolong military rule through its proxies in the absence of any viable political opposition. — Reuters
