PUTATAN, Aug 23 — Putatan MP Datuk Shahelmey Yahya has denied being among the seven Barisan Nasional (BN) MPs allegedly vacating their seats.

Shahelmy, who is Sabah deputy chief minister holding the works portfolio, also said the matter was just a rumour.

"It’s all just rumours, let’s not focus on them, let’s focus on our work,” he said when speaking to reporters here today.

"There’s nothing to them, I’m focused on solving our water and road problems,” he said.

He was asked to respond to Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam saying in a video clip posted online that four MPs are from Johor, and one each from Pahang, Sabah and a northern state will be resigning from their seats.

Shahelmey was previously reported to be serving a six-year suspension from Sabah Umno for disobeying the party’s stand and supporting Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as chief minister when the party had pulled out support for the latter early this year.

However, Shahelmy said that he has not received any official notice of his suspension and Umno president Datuk Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that the matter would be "settled internally.”

Shahelmey is also Tanjung Keramat assemblyman.
