Pakatan-BN denied two-thirds in Selangor, wins two-thirds in Penang, Negri Sembilan; PAS gets clean sweep in Terengganu

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 — The full official results for all six states are in, with Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) collectively winning two-thirds majority in Penang and Negeri Sembilan, but just a few seats shy of winning two-thirds in Selangor.

As of midnight, the Election Commission’s (EC) website showed that out of Selangor’s 56 seats, PH (32 seats) and BN (two seats) have a combined 34 seats, while Perikatan Nasional (PN) won 22 seats.

For Negeri Sembilan, PH (17 seats) and BN (14 seats) collectively won 31 of the 36 state seats there which gave more than two-thirds majority, with PN only winning the remaining five seats there.

Also from the EC website, Penang saw PH (27 seats) and BN (two seats) winning two-thirds of the 40 seats there, with PN capturing 11 seats.

PN, mostly via PAS and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, did a virtual sweep of the other three states.

From EC’s website, PAS made a clean sweep of all 32 seats in Terengganu.

PN won 33 of 36 seats in Kedah, with PH just winning three seats (Kota Darul Aman, Bakar Arang, Sidam), EC’s website showed.

In Kelantan, PAS won almost a clean sweep with 43 of the 45 seats there, while BN won one seat via Galas and PH won one seat via Kota Lama.
