JOHOR BARU, July 15 — Johor Amanah will mobilise its election machinery to Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan and Terengganu to assist in campaigning for the upcoming state elections.

Amanah deputy president Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, in his capacity of Johor Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman, said Amanah machinery from states not holding state elections will assist with campaigning efforts in Selangor, Penang and Kedah.

On Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s statement that BN would be contesting over 100 state seats in the upcoming polls, Salahuddin said it would not be an issue for Amanah as consensus had been achieved with all parties involved.

"In principle, we have set that each party will contest seats that they won (previously), so there’s no issue as it has been decided at the highest level.

"Umno will contest more seats as they have won more. Consider Negeri Sembilan, they won so many seats, while Amanah just won three,” he said after launching the Payung Rahmah Initiative with Zero Healthcare Sdn Bhd in Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru here today.

Salahuddin had been previously reported as stating that Amanah was expected to contest over 30 state seats in the upcoming state elections.

State elections for Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah will be held simultaneously on August 12, with early voting on August 8 and nominations on July 29. — Bernama
