KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 — Police have confirmed that a poster congratulating Seputeh MP Teresa Kok Suh Sim on her appointment as Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) chairman that went viral is fake.

Brickfields district police chief ACP Amihizam Abdul Shukor said they received a police report from Teresa Kok at around 5pm yesterday.

Initial investigations revealed that the poster originated from a Facebook page belonging to a Perak state assemblyman, he said, reiterating that the poster was fake after police confirmed with Felda that no official announcement had been made so far.

He reminded the public not to speculate about the viral poster as it was under investigation under Section 504 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communcations and Multimedia Act 1988. — Bernama
