JOHOR BARU, June 19 — En route to inspect road conditions in Senai, Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi stopped his car on Jalan Skudai in Danga Bay here to personally assist a crash victim at about 8.30am today.

The collision involved a car and motorcycle.

Onn Hafiz, 45, who is Machap assemblyman was photographed with paramedics, firemen and also traffic police already on the scene to check on the motorcyclist pinned partially underneath the car.

He resumed his journey after checking that the victim was being treated.

Larkin fire station operations commander Senior Fire Officer II Azmi Johar said an emergency call came in at 8.49am.

"A total of 11 firemen, assisted by a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and an Emergency Assistance Unit (EMRS), were immediately despatched to the scene,” he said in a statement.

Azmi said that the accident involved a Honda 150R motorcycle that lost control, skidded and hit a car, trapping the rider under the car.

"Firemen managed to remove the victim from under the car before sending him to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) for further treatment,” he said.

Azmi said that the entire operation ended at 9.16am.
