This comes as search engines showed that the website was defaced by someone calling themselves "CaptainSmok3r”.

Apart from insisting that it was "just for fun”, "CaptainSmok3r” also left a message in the Arabic script, believed to be in Persian: "به سلامتی حکم که یاد داد ، اگه تک باشی از شاه بالاتری”

Malay Mail is currently contacting Immigration Department officials for comments on the situation.

Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil previously said that the government is planning to set up a cyber security commission to strengthen the country’s cybersecurity system.
