JOHOR BARU, March 23 — The Johor police have identified six individuals who are believed to be part of the heretical 'Si Hulk' group that was recently linked to the circulation of a video that insulted Islam and the Prophet Muhammad.

Johor police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the individuals concerned were identified as a result of investigations carried out by Bukit Aman officers.

"The six people have been identified as being involved in spreading the video recently.

"For us, it is better that the six individuals surrender rather than the police arrest them at their place,” he said at the Johor police contingent headquarters here today.

Kamarul Zaman was commenting on a TikTok video lasting one minute and 17 seconds that went viral last Tuesday after it showed four men insulting Islam and the Prophet Muhammad.

The men featured in the video also admitted to supporting the teachings of 'The Hulk' which had been labelled as a heretical group by the Johor state fatwa committee in July 2021.

Meanwhile, Kamarul Zaman also confirmed that police have received a report on the matter

He said police had also received similar reports in several other states, including those lodged in Bukit Aman.

"There are many more police investigations that were initiated in other states, including at the federal police’s organised crime investigation unit.

"In addition, investigators also believed that they have identified the group’s alleged mastermind,” said Kamarul Zaman.
