KUALA LUMPUR, March 22 — The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) has been instructed to investigate the organisation of Thai Hot Guy, which is reported to be being held in the capital on March 30.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar said the organisation of the said event was contrary to Islamic teachings and moral values of the community.

"In the situation of Muslims welcoming the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, the organisation of the event is highly irresponsible,” he said in a statement here today.

Mohd Na'im said Jawi, as a religious authority in the Federal Territories, will not compromise with any activity that is against the teachings of Islam and existing laws.

He added that his department had also received reports from the community regarding the event, which is scheduled to take place at a venue in Jalan Tun Razak, here.

On Sunday, premises in the capital advertised the event on social media, which will feature several hunky Thai males dressed in female clothing, known as Thai Hot Guy, thus inviting negative reactions from the public. — Bernama
