Flood situation improves in Batu Pahat with just over 2,500 evacuees left at relief centres

JOHOR BARU, March 22 ― The flood situation in Batu Pahat has continued to improve, with the number of evacuees dropping to 2,540 at 8am today from 3,086 at 8pm last night.

The Johor Disaster Management Committee (JPBN), in a statement today, said 701 families are still taking shelter at 20 relief centres (PPS).

"The three PPS with the most number of evacuees are Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Seri Medan with 320 victims, followed by Sekolah Agama Seri Medan (314) and SK Seri Aman (257),” it said.

JPBN said 5,269 personnel from various agencies are involved in post-flood missions in several locations in Batu Pahat.

The weather for all 10 districts in the state is forecast to be bright this morning and the water levels of all rivers are below the danger marks. ― Bernama
