Budget 2023: Socso to top-up TVET grad salaries by RM600 for three months

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 24 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Social Security Organisation (Socso) will provide an incentive to encourage private sector employers to increase salaries for new graduates.

He said 17,000 Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) graduates will receive RM600 incentive per month for three months on top of their wages.

"RM45 million will be provided for this matter,” he said while tabling Budget 2023 in Parliament today.

Anwar, who is also the finance minister, added Socso will also provide incentives for employers to employ vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities (OKU), former convicts, homeless and hardcore unemployed up to RM600 per month for up to three months.
