Law minister Wan Junaidi’s wife dies

KUCHING, May 27 — Datin Sri Feona Junaidi, the wife of Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, died today.

She died at 6.12pm, her daughter Sharifah Nong-Jasima Syed Junaidi told RTM.

It was learned that Feona died at the Borneo Medical Centre here.

Her remains have been brought to Wan Junaidi’s residence here, and the Muslim funeral ceremony will take place at 9am tomorrow (May 27).

Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg is expected to attend the funeral ceremony.

Feona will be laid to rest in the Semariang Muslim Cemetery at 10am.

She was 71.

A post on Wan Junaidi’s official Facebook tonight said Feona died due to internal bleeding.

Feona and Wan Junaidi got married in 1972 at Rumah Sarawak in Kuala Lumpur.

The couple was blessed with three children – Embok Fariah, 49; Sharifah Nong-Jasima, 38 and Sharifah Nuril Barieyah, 29. — Borneo Post Online
