Malaysia’s Covid-19 cases continue upward trend with another 6,243 cases today

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 — The Health Ministry logged 6,243 new Covid-19 cases today, surging upwards for the third day straight.

This is almost 1,000 more cases compared to yesterday’s 5,403 and nearly 2,000 more than Monday’s total which was 4,543 cases.

This brings the total number of infected in Malaysia to 2,522,498 people.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also reported 24 cases from the total 6,243 were imported, of which six were non-Malaysians.

"In addition, 543 individuals are in the intensive care unit (ICU) with 504 of them positive for Covid-19.

"Of that total, 279 are intubated, with 196 of them positive for Covid-19,” Dr Noor Hisham said in a statement today.

From the total number of cases today, 106 were Category 3, 4 and 5.

Apart from that, another seven new clusters have emerged in Selangor, Penang, Kelantan (two clusters), Johor, Pahang and Kuala Lumpur, bringing the total number of active clusters to 300.
