Back below 6,000 mark, Malaysia records 5,671 new Covid-19 infections, with majority in Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 — After yesterday’s bump back up above the 6,000 mark, the Health Ministry announced that there were 5,671 new Covid-19 infections in Malaysia in the last 24 hours.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah posted the statistics on his Twitter, saying that Selangor topped the number of daily infections again at 1,510 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur at 769 cases and Sarawak with 631 cases.

Negri Sembilan was next with 593 cases, Johor (524), Kedah (309), Kelantan (262), Sabah (233), Melaka (184), Penang (166), Perak (143), Pahang (112), Terengganu (108), Labuan (106), Putrajaya (18), and Perlis (three).

Dr Noor Hisham said 7,325 patients recovered and were discharged today.

Currently, Malaysia’s active cases stand at 79,848.

The Health Ministry recorded 6,239 cases yesterday, following two days of new cases being below the 6,000 mark.
