Khairy: New round of AstraZeneca opt-in registration for those under 60 opens at noon tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 — The Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) today announced that opt-in registration for the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine for those under 60 will begin tomorrow (May 26).

In a press conference, Coordinating Minister of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Khairy Jamaluddin said that slots for the vaccine would be available for booking at 12pm.

He however stressed that the elderly will still be prioritised when assigning slots for the vaccine.

"We have given a few days specifically for the elderly to register for the AstraZeneca vaccine.

"Thus, CITF has decided to open registrations to those under 60 tomorrow at noon for the second phase of the AstraZeneca opt-in registration in the Klang Valley, Penang, Johor and in Kuching and Miri, Sarawak,” he said.

He said this was to ensure that all slots will be quickly filled for the second phase of the AstraZeneca opt-in vaccination.

"We will give today and tomorrow before noon to those above 60 to register first, and then we will open the slots up to those under 60,” he said.
