KOTA KINABALU, Sept 29 — Batu Sapi MP Datuk Liew Vui Keong, better known as VK Liew, has been admitted into the intensive care unit at the Gleneagles Hospital here due to a collapsed lung.

An aide to the Parti Warisan Sabah permanent chairman confirmed Liew’s critical condition after text messages started circulating on WhatsApp.

"Pneumonia. He has been sick for some time but it just got worse,” said the aide who asked not to be named.

The 60-year-old federal lawmaker is said to be unconscious. His lungs are also said to have been failing.

"Please pray for him,” said the aide.

Friends of Liew said he has been lying low and receiving treatment since earlier this month.

Liew was formerly Liberal Democratic Party president before he joined Warisan in 2018
