Health Ministry announces 82 new Covid-19 cases in Malaysia today, no deaths

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 — Malaysia registered 82 new Covid-19 cases today, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced.

Taking to his Facebook, the director-general of the Ministry of Health (MOH) added that no new deaths were registered today.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 positive cases in Malaysia to 10,769 cases.

The number of active Covid-19 cases currently totals 851 cases.

Of the 82 new cases reported today, 79 were infected domestically. The local transmissions involve 53 Malaysians and 36 foreigners.

The remaining three cases were infected while abroad in Yemen, Bangladesh and the Philippines. Two are Malaysians and one is a non-Malaysian.

Currently eight Covid-19 patients are treated in the Intensive Care Unit. Half of them are on ventilators.
