BANGI, Sept 5 — PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has advised his aide Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak to meet the police to assist investigations into a brawl near a sports complex in Ampang on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters in Bangi today, Anwar said Farhash, who is also Perak PKR chairman, is fine and that he had instructed his aide to meet the police.

"Farhash is okay. I told him to meet the police even when he said that the police report (against him) was withdrawn.

"If the police want to meet him, he must cooperate,” Anwar told reporters briefly after attending the  Digital Native Agenda 23 (DNA23) dialogue series at the National University of Malaysia (UKM) today.

Yesterday, the police said three men linked to last week’s armed assault incident in Ampang have surrendered to the authorities while Farhash remains at large.

Selangor Criminal Investigations Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat said the trio aged between 26 and 35 turned themselves in at the Ampang Jaya police headquarters at around 11.40am yesterday.

Fadzil said the main suspect in the case, Farhash, was still nowhere to be found and asked him to come forward immediately to assist ongoing investigations.

In the August 31 incident, which took place at Kompleks Sukan Arena All Stars in Taman Dagang Permai, Ampang, Farhash allegedly confronted a victim and pushed the latter’s face after both men bumped into one another at the sports complex.

The scuffle then triggered an armed assault led by Farhash and 14 others against the victim outside the sports complex.

In a short statement at midnight yesterday, Farhash claimed that the police report lodged by the complainant over the incident had actually named his brother and not him.
