King attends race at Sepang International Circuit

SEPANG, April 7 — Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah attended the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia 2019 race at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC), here today.

Also present was Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

Their Majesties were welcomed upon arrival at 10.40am by Raja Permaisuri of Johor, Raja Zarith Sofiah Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah.

Also present were SIC chairman Tan Sri Azman Yahya, chief executive officer Datuk Razlan Razali and Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM) president Tan Sri Mokhzani Tun Mahathir.

Their Majesties were at the circuit to witness Raja Permaisuri Agong’s nephew Tunku Panglima Johor, Tunku Abdul Rahman Hassanal Jeffri Sultan Ibrahim who competed in the race.

Tunku Panglima Johor, together with car race driver Jazzeman Jaafar, from the Triple Eight Race Engineering Australia, finished thirteen for the overall category and eighth position in the GT3PA class by clocking 02:03.066s.

Tanart Sathienthirakul (Thailand) and Philip Hamprecht (Germany) from China’s Absolte Racing team won the race by clocking 1:00:56.785s. — Bernama
