Trailer driver dies in fiery crash

MUALLIM, Feb 23 ― A driver was burnt to death following an accident involving three trailers at Km372 of tNorth-Southuth Expressway northbound near Slim River today.

District police chief Superintendent Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said initial investigations showed the deceased had crashed onto a trailer parked at the emergency lane.

"The victim's trailer was laden with diesel and burst into flames following the collision,” he said in a statement here today.

There were two trailers parked at the emergency lane. One suffered a brake problem and the driver of the other stopped to help.

The drivers of the other two trailers were unhurt.

Wan Kamarul Azran said police will try to identify the deceased through his employer, a firm based in Sungai Buloh, Selangor.

The crash had caused a 4km jam on the expressway.
