KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 — MyCar, an e-hailing service, has lodged a police report on the misconduct by one of its drivers believed to have offered sexual services to a passenger, as made viral on social media on January 27.
Its corporate and communications division officer Nur Atika Mat Nor said a police report was lodged on January 28 at the Shah Alam Section 6 police station.
"The police report is to enable police to take appropriate action so that MyCar’s reputation is maintained and to get the victim to lodge a police report for further action.
"MyCar has taken firm action against the driver involved by blacklisting his account,” she told Bernama when contacted.
According to her, MyCar had always put emphasis on the safety of its passengers and drivers.
Meanwhile, Shah Alam district police chief ACP Baharudin Mat Taib when contacted confirmed receiving the report.
"So far we have only received a report from MyCar and have not heard anything from the victim,” he said adding that no arrest has been made. — Bernama
