MACC summons Najib over alleged intervention in 1MDB audit report

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6 — Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today came to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here believed to assist investigation over the tampering of the final audit report on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

His arrival at about 10.30am, went on unaware by media representatives waiting at the building main entrance until it was announced by an MACC spokesman.

On Nov 25, Auditor-General Tan Sri Madinah Mohamad revealed that the final audit report on 1MDB had been tampered and Najib knew about it.

Madinah also disclosed that two crucial subjects dropped from the report were on the presence of wanted-businessman Low Taek Jho or Jho Low in a 1MDB Board meeting as well as the financial status of IMDB.

On the same day, MACC was reported as saying that it would commence investigation into the report tampering and would be calling several witnesses to assist investigations.

Yesterday, MACC called former MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad to assist investigation.

Former Auditor-General Tan Sri Ambrin Buang was again called to assist investigation after another appointment with MACC on November 26. — Bernama
