PLUS: Traffic crawling along some major highways

KUALA LUMPUR, June 13 — Traffic flow along some major highways is at a crawl as more people begin their journey home for Aidilfitri that starts on Friday.

A PLUS Malaysia Berhad spokesman told Bernama that traffic as at 1pm on both directions of the North-South Expressway was slow but under control.

He said the congestion affected the northbound route from Slim River to Sungkai while the southbound flow is smooth.

Traffic flow at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar, Johor from Singapore to Malaysia is also reported to be slow.  

Meanwhile, a Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) spokesman said traffic is congested along the route before the exit at Terengganu Toll Plaza to Kuala Terengganu via the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2), while LPT1 from the Karak Toll Plaza to Jabor, Terengganu is smooth.

"Traffic at Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway is slow from Gombak Toll Plaza till the Genting Sepah and Bukit Tinggi Rest and Service stopover towards Lentang,” he said.
