Rafizi's lawyer Abdul Nizam Hamid later confirmed that the bond would mean that Rafizi is no longer restricted from contesting in elections due to the OSA conviction.

The former PKR secretary general, who was previously Pandan MP, was not eligible to contest in the 14th general election due to the conviction and jail sentence.
