KANGAR, June 1 — Perlis PAS has offered to form a unity government in the state to resolve the crisis over the appointment of the mentri besar since the 14th general election on May 9.
PAS state commissioner Mohd Shukri Ramli said almost a month had passed but Perlis Barisan Nasional was still unable to form a government in the state even though Datuk Seri Azlan Man had been appointed as mentri besar.
"The crisis in Perlis has not shown any indication peace returning soon and the situation is in fact getting complicated. The move to send 11 names as mentri besar candidate is not appropriate as a mentri besar had been appointed with the consent of the Raja of Perlis,” he said in a statement here today.
He said the proposal to create a unity government was offered for the future of the state and the people’s well-being.
"Perlis PAS does not demand any post in the state government and it is also advising PKR not to claim the mentri besar post which has been consented by Tuanku (Perlis Raja),” he said. — Bernama
