KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 — A youth NGO dropped by Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s residence to thank him for being the patron while serving as the nation’s prime minister.

Gerakan 4B Malaysia president Mohd Nizam Omar said the visit to the house at Langgak Duta was a surprise.

"We just wanted to thank him for all his support and assistance during his time as patron. 4B’s patron is always the incumbent prime minister, meaning that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is now the patron,” he told reporters outside the house in heavy rain.

Nizam arrived around 12.30pm with several members and joined up with several more who had arrived earlier. Together the group of 25 people headed to Najib’s house and waited for 15 minutes by the guardhouse before gaining admittance.

"The members accompanying me come from all over the country, and are here in KL for 4B’s Supreme Council meeting later in the afternoon. We thought it would be nice to drop by to convey our thanks,” Nizam said. The delegation spent almost 90 minutes before leaving.

When asked what Najib said to the delegation, Nizam merely said that the former premier expressed his thanks and told them "to carry on the struggle.”

Founded in 1965 by teacher Mohd Kassim Shah, Gerakan 4B is an NGO geared towards empowering youths in Malaysia by providing guidance and support for them to master any disciplinary or vocational field they choose to be a part of.
