KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 — The Pakatan Harapan (PH) government does not support media blackouts, says Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

The minister said the policy adopted by PH was that of press freedom.

"We do not promote or support media blackouts. That is something the previous government did and we disapproved of it.

The Puchong MP was referring to a claim made by a Sarawak Barisan Nasional minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah when speaking to Dayak Daily which was reported by news portal Malaysiakini yesterday that RTM was blacking out their news since PH took over the federal government.

"He (Abdul Karim) is welcome to write to me about it officially if he wants to, and if he does, I will certainly look into it,” Gobind Singh said in a posting in his Twitter’s account, last night. — Bernama
