Land deal complied with all governance requirements, Bank Negara says

KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 — Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) today said its land transaction for the development of a financial education hub complied with all governance requirements and relevant laws that govern it.

In a statement here, the central bank said it would continue to be transparent in this matter.

It said this in relation to the recent international and domestic media coverage on the purchase of the land.

According to BNM, it had extended comprehensive information on the transaction to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, for its complete and independent review.

"The purchase of the land was initiated by the bank and conducted as an arms-length transaction and transacted at fair value as determined by an independent private sector valuer,” it said. — Bernama
