KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 — Roughly a dozen students from Pusat Tahfiz Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah centre have returned to former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s home, hours before his anticipated meeting with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) tomorrow.

At around 10.45pm tonight, a van bearing the logo of  the tahfiz centre — which made national headlines after 23 students were killed in a fire there last September — entered the house.

None of the visitors spoke to the press before entering the compound.

Umno man Abdul Rahim Abdul Rahman told Malay Mail the students performed solat hajat — a special prayer for a wish — while Astro Awani reported that the students were brought to recite Quranic verses, including the Yasin chapter.

The chapter is traditionally recited by Muslims here during tahlil, a ceremonial ritual filled with zikir, or supplications — usually held on Thursday evenings.

This is the second time that the students have visited Najib's home in the last three days.  

On Friday, the students had broken their fast and also performing terawih prayers at Najib’s house.

Najib is expected to give a statement to the MACC tomorrow to record his statement to facilitate investigation into the case involving SRC International Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the controversial 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
