KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 — Umno man Abdul Rahim Abdul Rahman said former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak must be considered innocent until proven guilty, as raids continue at his home in Taman Duta here.
Abdul Rahim, who claims to have been a friend of Najib since 1982, said judgement should not be cast prematurely.
He was asked by the press about the haul of handbags, valuables and cash seized from properties linked to Najib in relation to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.
"We don’t know if the bags were planted. How would anyone know?
"A man must be innocent until he is proven guilty,” he said.
Abdul Rahim, a former civil servant, made headlines yesterday after he was refused entry to Najib’s residence.
However, he was allowed entry at about 6.20pm today along with several other people.
