KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 — Local internet regulators appear to have removed local access restrictions imposed on Medium.com and Sarawak Report.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) previously blocked Sarawak Report in 2015 for allegedly carrying "unverified news” on 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

Local access to Medium.com was also restricted after it carried a Sarawak Report story following the imposition of restrictions on the latter here.

Malaysia is renewing investigations into 1MDB, the brainchild of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, whose Barisan Nasional lost the general election.
