PETALING JAYA, May 17 — Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today he will ask for Singapore’s help on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) investigation if it was needed.

This comes just two days before Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s official visit this Saturday to meet Dr Mahathir.

"He said he will be helpful, if there is a need for me to shout for help, I will shout for help,” Dr Mahathir told a news conference here, referring to Lee.

But Dr Mahathir added no specific subjects of discussion have been fixed yet.

"We have not fixed any subject we will discuss, and if he raises any issues we will discuss.

"We are still trying to figure out our stand with regards to certain issues which have not been finalised yet,” Dr Mahathir said.

When asked whether the government would review the construction of the East Coast Railway Link (ECRL) project, Dr Mahathir said it would be decided at a later date.

"ECRL we will decide at a later date because this involves some understanding with Singapore.”
