IPOH, May 15 — Perak Mentri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu should not simply accept those who betrayed the people’s trust into Pakatan Harapan (PH), his DAP ally Wong Kah Woh said.

Wong, who is also Ipoh Timur MP gave as example the inclusion of former Behrang assemblyman Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi, one of the three Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen who defected to Barisan Nasional (BN) in 2009, which triggered the Perak constitutional crisis.

"The fall of the Pakatan Rakyat government was a black spot that was never forgotten by the people of Perak,” Wong said in his statement.

"We must remind ourselves that PH is not a rubbish bin, where we can accept and keep people who have no dignity, principles, and who have sold the trust of the people for their own purposes.”

Jamaluddin was one of over 200 former Umno members who joined Perak Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) with former state executive councillor Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharudin yesterday.

Zainol, along with fellow ex-BN state exco Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi pledged their support for Faizal and the PH administration, allowing PH to form a simple majority government in Perak.

Wong said the people of Perak had high hopes for the new PH government, adding that Faizal should understand the feelings of Perakians who had seen the 2009 crisis unfold.

He said the support of two Umno assemblymen for PH was enough to form a majority government, and there was no need for those who had betrayed the people’s trust.

"Our Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has also advised that Umno should not be in PH.”

"This is the last thing that the mentri besar should do on his first day of reporting duty.”

Malay Mail is attempting to reach Faizal for his response.
