PETALING JAYA, May 14 — Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said he is open to being probed for his role in investigations into the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.

The immediate past Inspector-General of Police said he is aware he is among those under scrutiny by the new Pakatan Harapan (PH) federal government, alongside Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali whose position as Attorney-General is now under question.

"I am still on duty and I am ready to fully cooperate with regard to any issue, including any investigation process involving me,’’ Khalid was quoted saying by New Straits Times.

Last Saturday, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had said that Mohamed Apandi and Khalid would be investigated on their involvement in the 1MDB investigations.

Dr Mahathir also added that PH had placed restrictions on a number of people who might be involved in wrongdoings or had made wrong decisions in the previous government, but did not disclose their identities except for former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Khalid was reported saying he is unaware he is barred from leaving the country.
