GEORGE TOWN, May 14 — Padang Kota assemblyman Chow Kon Yeow was sworn in as the new Penang chief minister today.

The Penang DAP chairman was sworn in before the Penang Yang diPertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas at Seri Mutiara at 11.10am.

The 60-year-old is the fifth Penang chief minister and the second under a DAP-led coalition. 

This will be the third term that a DAP-led alliance will be administering the state. In the two previous terms, the state came under the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) pact before the alliance was reorganised under what is now known as Pakatan Harapan (PH).
