KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 — Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali called on everybody to get behind and support the leadership of the federal government under Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

"During a meeting yesterday at the hospital between the prime minister and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, PKR stressed and repeated their support of his leadership together with Datuk Seri Wan Azizah,” Azmin said today.

"Datuk Seri Anwar had during the meeting given his views to the prime minister to make sure the negotiation process (to select parliament members) takes into account the views and feedback of all within the parties,” he said.

This was in light of fellow party member Rafizi Ramli and Subang MP Wong Chen claiming that Dr Mahathir had "bulldozed” through the selection of the Finance, Home and Defence ministers yesterday.

"What is important is that Pakatan Harapan and PKR want to make sure the strong support given by the people in the elections will not be betrayed,” he said at the Gombak parliamentary constituency victory celebrations held this afternoon.

"We must respect their views, but in the end, we have to look at the party decision,” he said.

Azmin also denied members of PKR had boycotted the Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting at the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) headquarters in the Yayasan Selangor building yesterday.

"No, it is not true, we were waiting at the hospital in Cheras. We tried to persuade the council to meet at the hospital, but they continued with the discussion.

"Later, the PM came and explained to Datuk Seri Anwar and the discussion continued in hospital, that is a process we have to respect,” he said.

Meanwhile, Azmin said he had submitted a total of 10 names to the Sultan of Selangor to be considered as state exco members; the list includes some new faces.

"Some are new faces, but what is important is this a winning team, a team unified to serve the people,” he said.
