School principal shows up for school to tell students it's a public holiday

PETALING JAYA, May 10 — A principal of secondary school was concerned about his students showing up despite it being a public holiday.

So Abdul Raof bin Ramli from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Alor Pongsu in Bagan Serai, Perak, got dressed and headed out to greet students who showed up thinking it was a normal school day.

A Twitter user by the name of Rizal Sadiman, a teacher at the school, tweeted that not only did principal Abdul Raof bin Ramli personally greet students who came to school, he even gave them spending money for being so 'hardworking" in showing up.

The viral post has been retweeted more than 16,000 times with more like 11,000 likes.
