AYER HITAM, May 10 — Portraits of the former prime minister and former mentri besar are being taken down in Johor, following Pakatan Harapan’s GE14 federal and state wins.

Earlier, Malay Mail discovered portraits of Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak and former Johor mentri besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin were in the process of being taken down at the Ayer Hitam Inn.

Inn manager, Lee Chin Hin, 51, was seen removing both portraits from the wall of the hotel’s lobby around 4pm.

When approached on the portraits removal, Lee simply replied it was the will of the rakyat that it should be done and to welcome the new Prime Minister.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is expected to be sworn in as the 7th Prime Minister of Malaysia today after his pact won the elections yesterday, in a major upset that saw them end BN’s 60-year rule of the country.
