KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 — MRCB George Kent Sdn Bhd (MRCBGK) today assured the public that steps have been taken to ensure the safety of motorcyclists using the main carriageway of the Federal Highway as upgrading work takes place along pockets of the motorbike lane.

The project delivery partner for the LRT3 line pointed out that additional street lights and safety signs had been provided, among other precautionary measures.

"Measures have been taken to address and enhance safety along the motorcycle lanes diversion, along the Federal Highway near Shell (KM9) and Petronas (KM9) Stations (KL Bound),” it said in a statement.

MRCBGK also said that it would continue to review and improve these measures from time to time.

Malay Mail recently brought to light the growing number of motorcyclists using the main carriageway of the Federal Highway due to the closure of dedicated motorcycle lanes.

Motorcyclists have said they were left with no choice but to use the main carriageway as the dedicated motorcycle lanes were under repair.
