"Soon, I will let you know (of his decision),” Prabakaran told the Malay Mail. He politely declined to speak any further on the matter when asked.

The 22-year-old has made Malaysian history as the youngest candidate ever to contest and win in a general election.

Prabakaran expressed his joy at winning his first election, saying he is honoured at having been chosen by Batu’s constituents.

"This victory does not belong to me, but to Pakatan Harapan and the people of Batu,

"I will endeavour to do my best and accomplish everything, especially for the younger generation,” he said.

Prabakaran said he will also discuss any pressing issues facing Batu and its constituents with his predecessor Chua Tian Chang.

He emerged victorious in a four-way contest between PAS’ Azhar Yahya, Gerakan’s Dominic Lau, and independent candidate VM Panjamothy.
