SEMPORNA, May 8 — Abdul Muksin Mohamad Hasan said today he had withdrawn as the independent candidate for Bugaya in the general election and would support the Barisan Nasional.

Abdul Muksin, who had opted to use the bulldozer as his logo in the election, said he believed that only a BN government could bring greater progress to the Semporna district.

He also said he had brought along about 200 of his supporters to join the BN but did not state which component party he would join.

Abdul Muksin spoke at a meet-the-people session in Kampung Idani here. The BN candidate for the Bugaya state seat, Datuk Abdul Razak Sakaran, was also present at the event.

Bugaya sees a six-cornered contest, involving Abdul Muksin, Abdul Razak, Manis Muka Mohd Dara (Warisan), Mahamod Sarahil (PAS), Kulli Maralam (Parti Kebangsaan Sabah) and Mohammad Said Tiblan (Parti Pakatan Rakyat Sabah). — Bernama
