PETALING JAYA, May 8 — Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin has released yet another campaign video, this time featuring actress Vanida Imran and exploring voters’ dilemma on the eve of the general election.
In it, Khairy plays Harris, the husband to his wife named Aishah portrayed by Vanida, as both anguish over their fictional decision tomorrow.
The five-minute video, which was posted on Khairy’s Facebook page this morning, has already been viewed 173,000 times and shared by 3,400 users.
It starts with Harris appearing pensive as he weighs his choice for the Gombak federal seat. The seat is coincidentally contested by PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.
"Let’s just change, whatever. Let him feel it, let him know how challenging it can be — we’ll show them who is in power,” he says to Aishah.
She cautions him against impulsiveness, however, saying that his choice could have lasting repercussions.
"Have you thought this through? You can’t take these decisions lightly, our decision won’t be just for today, tomorrow or the day after but for the future — it’s not meant for trial and error,” she responds.
Aishah then relates a personal story about how she chose her life partner based not on his extravagant promises, but what he was capable of providing.
The clip ends with the family of three leaving the park as Harris places a Barisan Nasional flag on the table.
Response to the video online has been mixed.
The video is the latest featuring Khairy. BN previously released a video featuring Khairy and BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak at a mamak restaurant where both discussed the 14th general election (GE14).
Polling for GE14 will take place tomorrow.
